The Philosophy… The Texas Wake Series is founded on the idea of “by riders, for riders.” Every decision we make is with the best intentions of making the riders as happy as we can.

Empire Wake is dedicated to helping riders grow and progress to what ever level they desire. For the novice, it may be your first event and you are looking to improve your contest riding. For the riders that want to become pro level, we help obtain sponsors, get exposure and write articles about you.

We believe that the Series is like a family, and we take care of everyone as such. There are kids at the events, and they need positive roll models. You won’t see drunk people, or swearing from our staff. You will see our pros helping the beginners, and hanging out with them. We also prove a way to bring everyone together, like camping or an after party.

There are so many riders from so many areas that we want to have a place to meet and get to know each other. You can see this attitude all the way from the spectator to the founders. Texas Wake Series also believes each individual event is a local grassroots event. There will always be a local marina and board shop as the host. We make sure local riders are involved. All we do is bring our philosophy, man power, sponsors, loyal riders and reputation. You can choose to ride one event, or as many as you would like. We just love seeing new faces, and new riders. It truly is a great scene.

On February 13 & 14th Texas Ski Ranch hosted the seventh annual FreezeRide to kick off the 2010 season. After a long off season, FreezeRide always launches the Tournament season at TSR and reminds us just how fun TSR can be when the sun is shining and people are riding! This year riders from as far away as California, Minnesota and Florida joined the always-present group from Kansas City Watersports that are anxious for the start of their season. Local riders such as Tom Fooshee and Bret Little had an ever-increasing group of riders that made it even more difficult to defend their home site. Aaron Reed is still recovering from an injury that has kept him sidelined, but was a huge part of FreezeRide by hosting the second of three Obscura demos for this spring. Obscura brought in heavy hitters like Danny Hampson and Grant Roberts to promote the new line from Liquid Force. While Danny was also recovering from injuries, Grant competed in both the boat and cable competitions whenever he wasn’t tied up with the wakeskate demo that was being held on the Rixen Little Bro two tower system. Add all of the unbelievable riding to the Texas Hold’em Tournament, Spring Break Style Show and festival atmosphere and you get one of the best FreezeRides ever.

CWP Products: Rixen Little BRO 2-Tower System
Rixen, the inventor and leading manufacturer of the cable system also offers a two tower version of the traditional cable system. The “Little BRO” can add an exciting new attraction to your park at the fraction of the cost of other amusement rides. With a body of water as small as 25m x 70m you can now offer waterskiing and wakeboarding! This system is designed and made to withstand the rigors of commercial use. User friendly controls, designed with park operation in mind allows this system to cater to both beginners and the highest level wakeboarder.

The Little Bro is ideal for learning air tricks with a counter weight system that keeps the cable tight similar to the full size system. The Little Bro is the only straightline system to use the counterweight in the world. The little bro offers some other exclusive features such as the retractable rope so beginers can avoid getting tangled up and user friendly controls that make operating the system easir than any other cable on the market. The Little Bro also offers continuous riding if the rider chooses that option. The experience Rixen has from inventing the original cable as well as manufacturing 90% of the full size systems worldwide is evident in this smaller but equally impressive system.

Little BRO: 4 Programmed Modes
Beginner: (2 groups of beginners on each side, capacity up to 200 Starts/hour) Beginner starts and rides to secondary end, system reduces speed automatically and handle bar can be passed to next waiting rider of second group at secondary starting ramp. This rider returns then rides back to the motor tower and gets in line again.

Alternative: (1 Pro Group with deepwater start, capacity 100 rounds/hour) Rider holds on handle, carrier goes slowly around deflecting pulley; rider sets down and makes deepwater start and returns to starting ramp. Upon returning to the motor tower the speed automaticly stops and then starts over for next rider.

Pro Turns: (1 Pro Group with loopdrive, capacity 100 rounds/hour) For experienced riders group; Rider makes full pass to secondary tower where system switches direction quickly and rider makes a loop. Rider then returns to the starting point where system automaticly stops and next rider begins again.

Pro Open Loop: (constant ride with loops on both ends, rider continously goes without stopping.) For single pro riders- constant drive – rider makes loop on both ends. Riders turn can be as long as desired.
